Obituary Manager Documentation

I. Requirements

  • PHP
  • MySQL Database

II. Installation

  • Unzip GC_OMv1.zip
  • Create MySQL database
  • Import SQL script to populate database
  • Modify variables in /obits/config.php to suit your site
  • Upload "obits" directory to yourdomain.com/obits

III. Administration

  • Management Login

Use the following URL to manage your obituaries

yourdomain.com/obits/manage

Use the username and password your configured in the config.php file during installation.

 

  • Add Sources

RED bordered fields are required.

NOTE: Sources are where you get your obituary information from. i.e. Newspaper Name

 

  • List Sources

Here on the list sources page you can filter the list and remove sources.

 

  • Add Obituary

RED bordered fields are required.

Any picture uploaded in the picture field will automatically be resized to a width of 300 pixels.

An article uploaded in the article field can have a maximum width of 300 pixels.

Must use to pick the birth and death dates.


  • List Obituaries

 

  • Edit Obituary

To edit an obituary click on the edit icon on the highlighted record.

 

  • Remove/Delete Obituary

To remove or delete an obituary click on the trach can icon on the highlighted record.
